Arizi Primo Vunni

Thank you for taking time to visit AFOD Uganda Interactive website. This website is an important forum in which AFOD interfaces with stakeholders, designated agencies, the general public and other major role players in social development.

AFOD envisioned a healthy, educated, productive, just and peaceful and united Society. Our mission is to work with rural poor, marginalized and vulnerable communities to improve their social economic status and quality of life.

AFOD is guided by values of competency, drive for results, accountability, integrity, ethical code of conduct, gender responsiveness and respect for human dignity and rights in implementing its country programs. Community linkage/engagement, intersectoral collaboration and partnerships, Programme integration and local capacity building are key principles underpinning our planning and programming.

Our goal of launching this website is to make information easier to find and more timely as well as to share our mission and goals with our local communities.   Like many of our accomplishments over few years, this website was made possible through the generosity and support of our staff, humanitarian and development partners.

We are tasked to deliver the above vision through implementing our strategic programme of health, Nutrition, Food Security and Livelihood, Environmental Health, Protection and psycho-social support services, Research and innovation; Institutional Capacity Building. Our programmes are aligned to Government of Uganda vision 2040 and Sustainable Development Goals.

Today, I am proud that AFOD has been part of both humanitarian and development of Republic of Uganda with operational presence in the districts of Adjumani, Lawmo, Moyo, Yumbe Koboko and Arua. In AFOD, our strength lies in the highly qualified and experienced staff, our appeal to Humanitarian and Developmental partners including communities is to support our strategy and contribute to the achievement of our five years strategic plan 2017-2022.

Again, thank you for taking time to visit our website; I hope you found something helpful or informative.  All of us at AFOD welcome your feedback and hope you will contact us if you need more information.  Without such dialog between AFOD and its external public we cannot succeed at facilitating a smarter and more sustainable approach to national, regional and global social change.
